vmVlans

Module: CISCO-VLAN-MEMBERSHIP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VLAN-MEMBERSHIP-MIB::vmVlans

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.68.1.2.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: The VLAN(s) the port is assigned to when the port's vmVlanType is set to multiVlan. This object is not instantiated if not applicable.

The port is always assigned to one or more VLANs and the object may not be set so that there are no vlans assigned.

Each octet within the value of this object specifies a set of eight VLANs, with the first octet specifying VLAN id 1 through 8, the second octet specifying VLAN ids 9 through 16, etc. Within each octet, the most significant bit represents the lowest numbered VLAN id, and the least significant bit represents the highest numbered VLAN id. Thus, each VLAN of the port is represented by a single bit within the value of this object. If that bit has a value of '1' then that VLAN is included in the set of VLANs; the VLAN is not included if its bit has a value of '0'.

What is vmVlans?

This read-write OCTET STRING (up to 128 bytes) is a bitmap of the VLAN IDs a port belongs to when vmVlanType is set to multiVlan, with each bit representing a specific VLAN number starting from VLAN 1 in the first octet. An administrator configures this to place a trunk-like access port into several VLANs simultaneously rather than just one. For example, setting bit patterns corresponding to VLANs 10 and 20 assigns that port to both VLANs at once.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.68.1.2.2.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-VLAN-MEMBERSHIP-MIB::vmVlans

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.68.1.2.2.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-VLAN-MEMBERSHIP-MIB::vmVlans.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.68.1.2.2.1.4.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> vmVlans.1
