vmMembershipSummaryMemberPorts

Module: CISCO-VLAN-MEMBERSHIP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VLAN-MEMBERSHIP-MIB::vmMembershipSummaryMemberPorts

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.68.1.2.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: The set of the device's member ports that belong to the VLAN.

Each octet within the value of this object specifies a set of eight ports, with the first octet specifying ports 1 through 8, the second octet specifying ports 9 through 16, etc. Within each octet, the most significant bit represents the lowest numbered port, and the least significant bit represents the highest numbered port. Thus, each port of the VLAN is represented by a single bit within the value of this object. If that bit has a value of '1' then that port is included in the set of ports; the port is not included if its bit has a value of '0'.

A port number is the value of dot1dBasePort for the port in the BRIDGE-MIB (RFC 1493).

What is vmMembershipSummaryMemberPorts?

This is a bitmap OCTET STRING (up to 128 bytes) where each bit represents one of the device's ports, with the most significant bit of each octet corresponding to the lowest-numbered port in that group of eight. An administrator reads it to quickly see, in one value, exactly which physical ports currently belong to a given VLAN, without querying each port individually. For example, if the first octet is 10000000 in binary, port 1 is a member of that VLAN while ports 2 through 8 are not.
