cvifRowStatus

Module: CISCO-VIRTUAL-INTERFACE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VIRTUAL-INTERFACE-MIB::cvifRowStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.648.1.2.2.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: RowStatus

Access: read-write

Description: The status of this conceptual row. The RowStatus becomes active on successful creation of a virtual interface. If Virtual Interface Groups are not supported, as indicated by the cvifGroupsSupported MIB object, the virtual interface must be bound to a physical interface or another virtual interface like an Etherchannel before it can become operational.

What is cvifRowStatus?

This read-write RowStatus controls creation and deletion of an individual virtual interface entry. An admin cares because, as with the group table, the row can become active before binding is configured, so an active row alone doesn't confirm the interface is operational when groups aren't supported. For example, an admin creates the virtual interface via this status field, then separately sets the binding ifIndex to make it operational, when Virtual Interface Groups are not in use.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.648.1.2.2.1.7
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-VIRTUAL-INTERFACE-MIB::cvifRowStatus

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.648.1.2.2.1.7.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-VIRTUAL-INTERFACE-MIB::cvifRowStatus.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.648.1.2.2.1.7.1 s <value>
