cvifGroupBindingIfIndex

Module: CISCO-VIRTUAL-INTERFACE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VIRTUAL-INTERFACE-MIB::cvifGroupBindingIfIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.648.1.2.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InterfaceIndexOrZero

Access: read-write

Description: The ifIndex of the physical interface or another virtual interface like an Etherchannel bound to this Virtual Interface Group. The binding can happen at Virtual Interface Group creation time or at a later time. In order for Virtual Interface Group to become operational, binding to a physical interface or a virtual interface like an Etherchannel is mandatory. When the virtual interface group is not bound to an interface, this field has a value of zero.

What is cvifGroupBindingIfIndex?

This read-write value names the ifIndex of the physical interface, or another virtual interface such as an Etherchannel, that a Virtual Interface Group is bound to, with zero meaning currently unbound. An admin cares because binding is mandatory for the group to become operational, so a zero value here explains why a configured Virtual Interface Group isn't passing traffic yet. For example, setting this to the ifIndex of an Etherchannel would bind the group to that channel, making it operational once the bind succeeds.

Examples

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-VIRTUAL-INTERFACE-MIB::cvifGroupBindingIfIndex

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.648.1.2.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-VIRTUAL-INTERFACE-MIB::cvifGroupBindingIfIndex.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.648.1.2.1.1.3.1 s <value>
