Type: CucsVnicInstantiation

Access: read-only

Description: Cisco UCS vnic:IScsi:instType managed object property

What is cucsVnicIScsiInstType?

This OID reports the instantiation type (CucsVnicInstantiation) of an iSCSI vNIC defined inside a UCS service profile to carry iSCSI boot/storage traffic (IScsi) — whether this vNIC instance was created from a template or defined independently. An admin cares because template-instantiated vNICs inherit changes automatically when the template is updated, while independently-created ones do not, which changes how config drift can happen. For example, an admin rolling out a new VLAN to a vNIC template would rely on this instType value to confirm which IScsi instances are template-derived and will pick up the change automatically.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.53.38.1.17
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-VNIC-MIB::cucsVnicIScsiInstType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.53.38.1.17.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-VNIC-MIB::cucsVnicIScsiInstType.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cucsVnicIScsiInstType.1
