Module: CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-VNIC-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-VNIC-MIB::cucsVnicEthLifSwitchId

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.53.8.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CucsNetworkSwitchId

Access: read-only

Description: Cisco UCS vnic:EthLif:switchId managed object property

What is cucsVnicEthLifSwitchId?

This read-only CucsNetworkSwitchId value identifies which fabric interconnect side (typically A, B, or a dual/none state) this Ethernet Logical Interface (LIF) instance is pinned to or associated with. UCS's redundant-fabric design means every network-facing object is tied to one side of the fabric (or both, for failover), so this value tells an admin which physical fabric interconnect is actually carrying that Ethernet Logical Interface (LIF) instance's traffic. For the Ethernet LIF instantiated for vNIC 'eth0' on the adapter in server slot 4, carrying MAC address 00:25:B5:00:0A:1C, this OID reporting 'A' would tell an admin that traffic for this instance currently flows through fabric interconnect A, which matters when diagnosing a problem isolated to one fabric side.
