Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: SnmpAdminString

Access: read-only

Description: Cisco UCS vnic:DynamicCon:namingPrefix managed object property

What is cucsVnicDynamicConNamingPrefix?

This read-only SnmpAdminString value holds the naming prefix UCS Manager prepends when auto-generating names for the dynamic vNICs created under this Dynamic vNIC Connection setting instance. Because dynamically created vNICs need unique, predictable names, this prefix is what an admin should search for in UCS Manager or the guest OS's interface list when trying to identify which NICs were auto-provisioned by this policy. For a service profile configured for 8 dynamic vNICs with fabric-failover protection enabled, for a hypervisor host running many VMs, a namingPrefix of 'vmfex-' would mean the auto-created dynamic vNICs on that host show up named 'vmfex-0', 'vmfex-1', and so on.
