The RN is the piece an admin actually assigns or that UCS Manager derives when creating the object; combined with its parent's DN it produces the object's full DN, so two Connectivity Definition instances under different parents can share the same RN without colliding. Looking at a service profile whose Connectivity Definition names 'LAN-Conn-Prod' as its LAN policy and 'SAN-Conn-Fabric-A' as its SAN policy, the RN would be the short naming segment (for example an object ID or index) that appears as the last component of that instance's DN.
