Module: CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-VNIC-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-VNIC-MIB::cucsVnicBootTargetDn

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.53.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CucsManagedObjectDn

Access: read-only

Description: Cisco UCS vnic:BootTarget:dn managed object property

What is cucsVnicBootTargetDn?

This read-only CucsManagedObjectDn value is the Distinguished Name (DN) of a Boot Target object — the full hierarchical path UCS Manager uses to uniquely address one specific Boot Target instance in its management-information tree. Since a UCS domain can contain many Boot Target instances (one row per configured boot-target entry under a boot policy), the DN is what lets monitoring tools or scripts pin an SNMP row to the exact instance it describes rather than just the object type. For example, an admin troubleshooting a Boot Target pointing a server's vHBA at LUN 0 on storage-array WWN 20:00:00:25:b5:00:00:0a would read this OID to get a DN like 'org-root/...dn', letting them jump straight to that instance in UCS Manager instead of searching through the whole tree.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.53.1.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-VNIC-MIB::cucsVnicBootTargetDn

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.53.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-VNIC-MIB::cucsVnicBootTargetDn.1
