This gauge reports the number of sampling intervals reflected in the currently sampled CPU-load and memory-usage statistics for the fabric-interconnect switch's onboard OS. An administrator judging how statistically meaningful a load or memory average is checks intervals on this SystemStats reading, since an average built from very few intervals is less reliable than one built from many. For example, an intervals value of just one or two would tell an operator to treat the accompanying average figures cautiously until more samples accumulate.
