This text field carries the human-readable description of the finite-state-machine (FSM) task currently running against the port-discovery object that runs the neighbor-discovery process for a fabric-interconnect port. An administrator watching a port come up (or fail to) reads fsmDescr directly to see, in plain words, what discovery or configuration step UCS Manager is presently executing on that PortDiscover instance. For example, fsmDescr might describe a discovery step in progress, which tells the operator the port has not yet finished being brought online rather than having failed outright.
