This field holds the Dn of the parent physical network or controller port associated with a virtual drive, tying the logical drive back to the physical path it is exposed through. An admin uses this pnDn to identify which physical port or controller path a given virtual drive is routed through when diagnosing connectivity. For example, if drives on one controller path go unreachable, the admin filters virtual drives by this pnDn to find all logical drives routed over that failed path.
