cucsStorageEmbeddedStoragePhysicalBlockSize

Module: CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-STORAGE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-STORAGE-MIB::cucsStorageEmbeddedStoragePhysicalBlockSize

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.45.110.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Gauge32

Access: read-only

Description: Cisco UCS storage:EmbeddedStorage:physicalBlockSize managed object property

What is cucsStorageEmbeddedStoragePhysicalBlockSize?

This OID returns physicalBlockSize for the EmbeddedStorage object, a Gauge32 giving the native physical sector size of the onboard storage device, which can differ from the logical blockSize it presents (for example a device with a 512-byte logical sector but a 4K physical sector, i.e. 512e). Admins check this when diagnosing performance issues caused by logical/physical sector mismatch on the embedded device. For example, a mismatch between physicalBlockSize and blockSize on the embedded boot drive can explain unexpectedly slow small-write performance during OS installation.
