For a scheduled export-policy job (for example a nightly tech-support or full-state configuration backup) defined for the UCS domain, this is the single field an automated poller can check to decide whether it is safe to issue another change against the same object, or whether pushing a configuration or diagnostic bundle out to a remote TFTP/FTP/SCP/SFTP server on the schedule the policy defines is still in flight. A healthy completed job reports a status equivalent to 'completed', while a stuck one might sit at 'inProgress' far longer than expected.
