For this particular path record, matching PeerMac against the actual upstream switch's MAC address lets an admin confirm this port-channel member is really terminating on the network device it is supposed to, catching a miswired uplink before it silently blackholes traffic. For example, seeing 00:1B:54:9A:2C:10 here confirms uplink port-channel member 1/1 on fabric interconnect A really lands on that specific upstream Nexus port.
