This free-text field carries a human-readable description of the current step or outcome recorded for one finite-state-machine run tracked by the endpoint manager for a specific port or port-channel configuration change. When a chassis or port bring-up hangs, this is the field an admin actually reads in UCS Manager or a syslog export to see, in plain words, what endpoint-manager FSM run was doing or why it stalled. A stalled instance might show text like 'Failed to apply admin state: peer not responding'.
