This is the port number on the peer device at the other end of this link. For this server-facing port on the fabric interconnect's DCE switch, peerPortId combined with the local portId lets you confirm the physical cabling map matches what UCS Manager expects, catching a cross-wired chassis before it causes a redundancy failure.
