What is cucsExtvmmEpFsmProgress?
This is a Gauge32 percent-complete value (0-100) for the FSM currently executing on the FSM that drives the vCenter endpoint's connect/register workflow. Watching this counter for the vCenter-endpoint FSM across successive polls is how an admin distinguishes an operation that is slowly advancing from one that has silently frozen. A value stuck at 20 for several minutes on the vCenter-endpoint FSM would prompt an admin to check the stage-level error fields rather than assume it's simply taking a while.
