This lets an admin confirm, after the fact, exactly when jumbo-frame traffic first started (or stopped) appearing on this interface, which is useful for correlating against a known MTU configuration change made around the same time. Finding this archived jumbo count first turning nonzero in a sample dated the same day storage MTU was raised to 9000 confirms that change is what introduced jumbo traffic on this interface.
