This field reports the cumulative count of FCoE frames that arrived on the wire but were discarded before being handed up to the Fibre Channel stack, tracked by this particular stats object since it was created or last reset. For a network admin, a nonzero value here on an otherwise healthy Ethernet link points specifically at FCoE buffer exhaustion or a lossless-Ethernet/priority-flow-control misconfiguration, not a generic Ethernet problem. For example, a cumulative value of 41 frames since the interface came up would still be within a tolerable range, whereas a rapidly climbing count in the hundreds would justify escalation.
