Description: Cisco UCS equipment:SwitchIOCard:peerCommStatus managed object property

What is cucsEquipmentSwitchIOCardPeerCommStatus?

This enumerated value ("peerCommStatus") reports the communication status between this IOM and its peer IOM in the same chassis, using the CucsEquipmentCommStatus type. Because the two IOMs in a chassis coordinate over an internal link, an admin diagnosing an odd chassis-level symptom, like one IOM failing over unexpectedly, checks this status to see whether the two modules can actually talk to each other right now. A value of "connected" means this IOM and its chassis peer are communicating normally; "none" would flag a peer-communication break worth investigating before assuming a full IOM failure.
