A sensor glitch, a brief internal bus error while polling the SIOC, or a sample taken mid-reboot can each produce a spurious reading, so this flag lets monitoring logic suppress an alert on a single suspect sample instead of paging someone over a phantom spike. This normally reads false; true right after a firmware upgrade of the SIOC would tell an admin to disregard that particular sample rather than escalate it as a real thermal event.
