UCS Manager steps a newly inserted or rebooted SIOC through a sequence of discovery and configuration checkpoints, so this value lets support staff see exactly where a stalled SIOC got stuck rather than only knowing that discovery generically 'failed'. A healthy SIOC typically shows a checkpoint such as 'discovered', while one stuck mid bring-up might sit at an earlier checkpoint such as 'connect' until the underlying issue is cleared.
