The number of unanswered SYNs that are allowed to be outstanding to this virtual server. After this number is reached, SYNs are dropped depending on the value of slbVirtualSynguardPeriod.

What is slbVirtualSynguardCount?

This OID holds the maximum number of unanswered SYN packets (connection requests) allowed before the load balancer starts dropping new requests to a virtual server. This protects servers from SYN flood attacks where attackers send many incomplete connection requests. A network operator would lower this threshold during a detected attack to block more requests or raise it during legitimate traffic bursts to avoid rejecting valid new connections.
