cPppoeSystemSessionPerVCLimitNotif

Module: CISCO-PPPOE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-PPPOE-MIB::cPppoeSystemSessionPerVCLimitNotif

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.194.2.0.7

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: A notification indicating that number of active sessions for a ATM VCI/VPI has crossed the configured maximum limit. No more session would be possible on this VC interface. The maximum limit can be referred through object cPppoeSystemPerVClimit, The ATM VC details are referred via objects cPppoeSystemSessionVci, and cPppoeSystemSessionVpi. The Interface details can be referred via ifDescr object.

An agent must not generate more than one cPppoeSystemSessionPerVCLimitTrap `trap-event` in a 30 second period, where a `trap-event` is the transmission of a single trap PDU to a list of trap destinations. If additional `the number of PPPoE sessions on this VC exceeds the allowed limit` condition occur within the 30 second `throttling` period, then these trap-events should be suppressed by the agent.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' CISCO-PPPOE-MIB::cPppoeSystemSessionPerVCLimitNotif
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.194.2.0.7

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:51408->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (349965520) 40 days, 12:07:35.20
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: CISCO-PPPOE-MIB::cPppoeSystemSessionPerVCLimitNotif

SNMPv3 example:

snmptrap -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3user -a SHA -A "AuthPass1" -x AES -X "PrivPass1" <manager> '' CISCO-PPPOE-MIB::cPppoeSystemSessionPerVCLimitNotif
