cnsSelInpSrcFSW

Module: CISCO-NETSYNC-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-NETSYNC-MIB::cnsSelInpSrcFSW

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.761.1.1.2.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-only

Description: This object indicates the forced switching flag. Forced switching, as described in G.781, is used to override the currently selected synchronization source.

The 'true' value indicates the currently selected clock source is a result of the forced switching. The 'false' value indicates the currently selected clock source is not a result of forced switching.

What is cnsSelInpSrcFSW?

This object indicates whether the currently-selected T0 clock source is active because an operator explicitly forced a switch to it, overriding the normal automatic selection logic, rather than because the automatic process picked it on its own merits. It matters because a forced switch bypasses the normal quality-level-based ranking, so an admin seeing true here knows the best clock source by QL might not actually be the one in use; a human intervened. Seeing this stuck at true long after a maintenance window has closed would be a red flag that someone forgot to clear a forced switch that was only meant to be temporary.
