What is sonetPathTraceToTransmit?

This is the actual text this box transmits in the SONET path trace (J1) overhead byte toward the far end, up to 64 bytes, with only the first 16 bytes used if the 16-byte trace format is selected. Carriers typically set this to a string identifying the circuit ID or site name so that whoever is looking at the far end's received-trace value can immediately confirm which physical circuit they're looking at, catching cross-connect mistakes during provisioning. Setting this to a string like SITE-A-OC3-CKT4471 lets a technician at the far end read back that exact string in their own received-trace field and confirm the fiber run terminates where the paperwork says it should.
