Description: When any statistical threshold is exceeded.

What is sonetPathStatisticalAlarmSeverity?

This setting controls how severely the system should classify an alarm when any of the path's configured statistical thresholds (ES, SES, CV, or UAS, for either the current 15-minute or current-day window) gets exceeded. An admin sets this based on how disruptive threshold-crossing errors are on this particular circuit -- a path carrying best-effort data traffic might be left at minor(1), while a path carrying a customer's primary voice trunk would be set to major(2) so it escalates to on-call staff immediately. With this set to major(2), exceeding the CurrentDay CVs threshold of 250 on a heavily degrading path would raise a major alarm rather than sitting quietly in a minor-alarm log an operator might not check until the next morning.
