Module: CISCO-MGX82XX-SONET-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-MGX82XX-SONET-MIB::sonetLineCurrent15minCVsThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.4.6.1.4.7.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Description: The default is set to 25. This threshold is the same for Far End and Near End.

What is sonetLineCurrent15minCVsThreshold?

This integer sets the Coding Violations count that, if exceeded within the current 15-minute Line-layer interval, triggers a statistical alarm, defaulting to 25 and applying identically to near-end and far-end statistics. An admin cares because this default tolerates a modest number of bit errors in either direction before alarming, letting normal line noise pass while still catching a genuine burst on either the near-end or far-end side. For example, a far-end CV burst exceeding 25 within one 15-minute window would trip this alarm exactly the same way an equivalent near-end burst would.
