What is cwSonetMediumLineCoding?
This enumerated value describes the physical line coding used on this interface, distinguishing electrical SONET/SDH signals using B3ZS or CMI coding from optical signals using NRZ (or RZ) coding. An admin cares because line coding type is a quick way to tell, from SNMP alone, whether a given interface is an electrical (copper) or optical SONET/SDH port without needing to physically inspect the card. For example, an interface reporting sonetMediumB3ZS is an electrical STS-1/STS-3 port, while one reporting sonetMediumNRZ is an optical port.
