Description: The counter associated with the number of Far End Coding Violations reported via the far end block error count encountered by a SONET/SDH Path interface in a particular 15-minute interval in the past 24 hours.

What is cwSonetFarEndPathIntervalCVs?

This reports the far-end block error (FEBE) derived Coding Violation count for one specific completed 15-minute bucket, showing how many individual bit errors the remote terminal counted during that particular window. A technician can use a spike in one interval's far-end CV count, compared with a flat near-end CV count for the same interval, to time-box exactly when an outbound-only signal-quality problem occurred. An interval reporting 1,200 far-end CVs concentrated in what its matching far-end ESs shows as only 3 errored seconds indicates those errors landed in a tight, dense burst rather than being spread across the interval.
