Setting this action object to clear(2) zeroes out all of the far-end current-interval counters (ESs, SESs, CVs, FCs/RFIs, UASs) for this path. An operator uses this after fixing an outbound-direction fault (for example, replacing this box's transmit optics) to clear the far-end error history that the remote terminal had been reporting, so subsequent polls reflect the repaired transmit path rather than the fault that's already been resolved. After swapping a degrading laser that was causing the far end to report elevated FEBE-derived CVs, clearing this resets those far-end counters to zero for a clean before/after comparison.
