Module: CISCO-IETF-PW-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-IETF-PW-MIB::cpwVcOutboundVcLabel
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.106.1.2.1.19
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Unsigned32
Access: read-create
Description: The VC label used in the outbound direction (i.e. toward the PSN). It may be set up manually if owner is 'manual' or automatically otherwise. Examples: For MPLS PSN, it represents the 20 bits of VC tag, for L2TP it represent the 32 bits Session ID. If the label is not yet known (signaling in process), the object should return a value of 0xFFFF.
What is cpwVcOutboundVcLabel?
This is the actual label or session identifier this router stamps on packets it sends into the packet-switched network for this pseudowire - the 20-bit MPLS VC tag for an MPLS core or the 32-bit Session ID for L2TPv3. Engineers check this value when troubleshooting a pseudowire that won't come up, since a stuck value of 0xFFFF means label signaling has not completed yet. A working VC might show an outbound label of 24578, while a VC still negotiating would show 65535 (0xFFFF) until the signaling protocol assigns it.
