cfcFeatureCtrlAction

Module: CISCO-FEATURE-CONTROL-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-FEATURE-CONTROL-MIB::cfcFeatureCtrlAction

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.377.1.1.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CiscoFeatureAction

Access: read-write

Description: The action to be triggered for the feature. Setting the value of this object to a value other than 'enable' or 'disable' does not trigger any action for the feature and hence does not affect the value of corresponding instance of 'cfcFeatureCtrlLastAction'. Retrieving the value of this object via SNMP will always return 'noOp'. cfcFeatureCtrlAction object is superseded by cfcFeatureCtrlAction2.

What is cfcFeatureCtrlAction?

This is a write-triggered action object for enabling or disabling a named feature -- writing enable or disable triggers that action, writing anything else has no effect, and reading it back always returns noOp since it is not a persistent state. The always-noOp-on-read behavior is a specific gotcha: an admin or script that reads this object expecting to see the feature's current enable/disable state will always get a meaningless answer and must instead poll cfcFeatureCtrlOpStatus or cfcFeatureCtrlLastAction to actually determine feature status. A script that sets this to enable to turn on the fcoe feature, then immediately reads this same object back expecting confirmation, would only ever see noOp -- it needs to poll cfcFeatureCtrlLastActionResult separately to confirm the enable actually succeeded.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.377.1.1.1.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-FEATURE-CONTROL-MIB::cfcFeatureCtrlAction

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.377.1.1.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-FEATURE-CONTROL-MIB::cfcFeatureCtrlAction.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.377.1.1.1.1.3.1 s <value>
