Description: The number of times TCP connections that experienced TCP Keep Alive Time outs closed down on this FCIP Link.

What is cfmFcipLinkTcpKeepAliveTimeOut?

This counts the number of times a TCP connection underlying this FCIP link was closed down because it experienced a TCP keep-alive timeout -- the remote end simply stopped responding to keepalive probes. This distinguishes a specific failure mode, an unresponsive peer, from other closure reasons like too-many-errors or excessive dropped datagrams, letting an admin narrow down whether outages on this link are caused by the remote entity going silent versus an actively degrading path. A spike in this counter correlating with a known remote-site power or device outage would confirm the FCIP link's TCP connection dropped specifically because the remote end stopped answering, not because of a local or mid-path issue.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-FCIP-MGMT-MIB::cfmFcipLinkTcpKeepAliveTimeOut

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.96.1.1.8.1.11.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-FCIP-MGMT-MIB::cfmFcipLinkTcpKeepAliveTimeOut.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cfmFcipLinkTcpKeepAliveTimeOut.1
