Description: An indication of whether the FCIP Entity supports the protection against sequence number wrap. If true(1), the FCIP Entity supports protection against sequence number wrap. If false(2), the FCIP Entity does not support protection against sequence number wrap.

What is cfmFcipEntitySeqNumWrap?

This reports whether this FCIP entity implements protection against TCP sequence number wraparound, a real concern on very high-throughput, long-duration FCIP connections where the 32-bit TCP sequence space can actually wrap during a long-lived session. On a high-bandwidth, long-duration FCIP tunnel, common for continuous storage replication links that stay up for months, lacking this protection could theoretically let a wrapped sequence number be misinterpreted, so this capability flag matters for validating platform suitability for sustained high-throughput SAN extension. A 10Gbps FCIP link kept continuously active for storage replication over many months would specifically benefit from this reporting true, since sustained high throughput accelerates how quickly the sequence space could wrap.
