Module: CISCO-EPM-NOTIFICATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-EPM-NOTIFICATION-MIB::cenAlarmManagedObjectClass

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.311.1.1.2.1.13

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: SnmpAdminString

Access: read-only

Description: The class of the managed object for which this alarm was generated. For example, Router, Switch, GateKeeper and VoicePort.

What is cenAlarmManagedObjectClass?

This names the class of device or object the alarm is actually about -- Cisco's own example list includes Router, Switch, GateKeeper, and VoicePort. Because EPM notifications can be generated by a central management platform monitoring a heterogeneous device fleet, this field is essential for routing the alarm to the right team, since the SNMP trap's source address alone might just be the management server, not the affected device. An alarm reporting this field as 'VoicePort' would get routed to the voice/UC team, while one reporting 'Switch' goes to the network infrastructure team, even if both alarms originated from the same central management server.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.311.1.1.2.1.13
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-EPM-NOTIFICATION-MIB::cenAlarmManagedObjectClass

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.311.1.1.2.1.13.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-EPM-NOTIFICATION-MIB::cenAlarmManagedObjectClass.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cenAlarmManagedObjectClass.1
