Access: read-only

Description: The interface through which the next hop IP address is reached to send network traffic to the destination network represented by the topology entry.

What is cEigrpNextHopInterface?

This object reports the name of the local interface through which the next-hop address for this topology entry is reached. Combined with cEigrpNextHopAddress, this tells an admin exactly which physical or logical interface on this router is currently carrying traffic toward a given destination, the concrete detail needed to go check that interface's own error counters, utilization, or physical status when troubleshooting reachability to that destination. If a destination is experiencing intermittent packet loss, an admin would use this object to identify the exact egress interface, say GigabitEthernet0/1, and then check that specific interface's error and discard counters rather than guessing which interface is involved.
