Description: The number of times requests for rekeying of existing security associations were received by the crypto accelerators from this security protocol, counted since the last reboot of the device.

What is ccaProtSaRekeyReqs?

This counter tracks requests for rekeying existing security associations that this protocol sent to the accelerators, counted since the last reboot. Rekeying happens on a scheduled basis per configured SA lifetime as a normal security practice, so an admin expects this counter to increment steadily and predictably in line with configured rekey intervals rather than in sudden unexplained bursts. If an admin configured an IPsec SA lifetime of 1 hour across 50 tunnels, they'd expect this counter to increment roughly 50 times per hour under steady-state conditions, and a deviation from that rate would be a useful troubleshooting clue.
