What is casfTrafficDescrPIR?

This read-create value holds the Peak Information Rate, in bits per second, for this traffic descriptor. PIR sets the absolute ceiling this connection can ever be shaped or policed to, above CIR, so it determines the connection's maximum possible throughput during idle network conditions, whereas CIR is only what's guaranteed during congestion. A connection with a 512 Kbps CIR and a 1544 Kbps PIR can burst up to a full T1's worth of traffic when the network is quiet, but only 512 Kbps of that is protected once it gets busy.
