This counter tallies how many RADIUS Packet-of-Disconnect requests the ASN gateway has received, each one an instruction from the AAA/policy server to forcibly tear down a subscriber's session. Because a rising count reflects sessions being killed from the network side rather than by the client's own device, an admin can distinguish ordinary 'user hung up' churn from an active eviction campaign coming from the AAA server, for example after a billing-plan change or a fraud block. On a gateway serving 5,000 active subscriber sessions, a jump from 12 to 340 PODs in a single polling interval would point to an automated disconnect campaign fired by the RADIUS server rather than routine session churn.
