circuitEventInterval

Module: CIRCUIT-MIB

OID (symbolic): CIRCUIT-MIB::circuitEventInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.6.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: For any circuit related events, events are generated at a specific time interval. circuitEventInterval specifies that. The default value is 1 second.

What is circuitEventInterval?

This sets, in seconds, the interval at which circuit-related events are generated on this device, with a default of firing once per second. An admin tuning event-generation frequency balances timeliness of status reporting against the volume of event traffic and processing load the interval creates; lengthening it reduces event noise at the cost of slower detection of circuit state changes. For example, raising this from the default 1 second to 10 seconds would cut event volume roughly tenfold but also delay by up to 10 seconds how quickly a circuit fault gets reported as an event.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.6.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CIRCUIT-MIB::circuitEventInterval

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.6.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CIRCUIT-MIB::circuitEventInterval.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5812.6.6.1 i <value>
