Description: Client identifier used for manual leased. The structure of the client identifier is as follows: combination of TYPE and Data. Where Type = 01 if for Ethernet MACs and Data for this case if Ethernet MAC address. The user can use also other client identifiers as strings. Default: '' - 01:Interface MAC address.
What is cigDhcpClientsClientId?
This is the DHCP client-identifier value this interface presents to the DHCP server when requesting a lease, which by default is the interface's own MAC address prefixed with type 01 per the description's Ethernet MAC convention, but can be overridden with a custom string if the DHCP server needs to recognize this client by a different identifier, for example to hand out a specific reserved lease. An admin setting up a DHCP reservation on the server side for this specific device needs to know or set this exact client-identifier value to match, since a mismatch here would cause the server to treat this interface as an unknown client rather than honoring the intended reservation. For example, changing this away from the default MAC-based identifier to a custom string would require updating the corresponding reservation entry on the DHCP server to match, or the reservation would silently stop applying.
