OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.1.28.1.1.6.1.14

Description: BITS Signal encoding, set if BITS signal is used as a protection unit.

What is cienaCesInputPUBITSSignalEncoding?

This reports the configured line encoding, such as AMI or B8ZS for T1-based BITS feeds, for this reference unit, applicable only when the unit is a BITS-type reference, and like the mode and format objects it must match the upstream source's actual encoding for signal recovery to succeed. An admin working through a BITS lock failure would check mode, format, and this encoding setting as a set, since any one mismatch among the three can independently prevent successful synchronization. For example, a T1-based BITS unit configured for AMI encoding when the upstream source is actually sending B8ZS would show persistent signal errors despite the physical link being up.
