cienaCesRsvpteRestartTime

Module: CIENA-CES-RSVPTE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-RSVPTE-MIB::cienaCesRsvpteRestartTime

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.1.16.1.1.15

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: The time in milliseconds that the local node takes to restart RSVP-TE and the communication channel used for RSVP-TE communication. This is advertised to neighbors in the Restart_Cap object in Hello messages.

Only used if cienaCesRsvpteRestartCapable is set to true.

For devices which only act as the Helper node, this timer is unused and will return value 0.

What is cienaCesRsvpteRestartTime?

This is the time in milliseconds the device advertises to neighbors as how long it needs to restart its RSVP-TE process and re-establish its communication channel, used only when the restart-capable flag is true. Neighbors use this advertised value to decide how long to keep this device's LSP forwarding state alive across a detected restart before giving up and tearing it down, so an accurate value here versus an overly optimistic one directly affects whether real service is preserved through a control-plane restart. For example, if the device actually needs 45 seconds to restart RSVP-TE but this is left at a default of 10000 ms (10 seconds), neighbors may give up and tear down LSPs to this device 35 seconds before it's actually ready.
