cienaCesRsvpteRecoveryTime

Module: CIENA-CES-RSVPTE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-RSVPTE-MIB::cienaCesRsvpteRecoveryTime

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.1.16.1.1.16

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: The period of time in milliseconds that the local node would like neighbors to take to resyncronize RSVP-TE and MPLS forwarding information after the re-establishment of Hello connectivity. This is advertised to neighbors in the Restart_Cap object in Hello messages.

A value of zero indicates that the node does not support resynchronization following failure of the local node.

A value of 0xFFFFFFFF indicates an infinite recovery time.

Only used if cienaCesRsvpteRestartCapable is set to true.

For devices which only act as the Helper node, this timer is unused and will return value 0.

What is cienaCesRsvpteRecoveryTime?

This is the time in milliseconds this device requests its neighbors take to resynchronize RSVP-TE and MPLS forwarding state after Hello connectivity is re-established, with 0 meaning this node doesn't support post-restart resynchronization at all and 0xFFFFFFFF signaling an infinite recovery time. A neighbor receiving this value paces its own state resynchronization procedure to it, so setting this too aggressively short on a device with a genuinely slow forwarding-table rebuild could cause neighbors to consider resync complete before this device's forwarding plane has actually caught up. For example, if this device needs 30 seconds to fully rebuild its MPLS forwarding table but this object advertises only 5000 ms, a neighbor might start sending traffic through this device before its forwarding state is actually ready, causing brief traffic loss.
