Description: The number of RADIUS packets of unknown type which were received from this server on the authentication port.

What is cienaCesRadiusDot1xAcctUnknownTypes?

This counts packets of an unrecognized RADIUS packet type received from this server; the source description's reference to the authentication port appears to be inherited text from the authentication-table version of this object rather than a literal statement about accounting traffic. A nonzero value here indicates the accounting server is sending a packet type, such as a vendor-specific extension, that this switch's firmware doesn't recognize, which an admin should investigate as a firmware or vendor-compatibility gap rather than a network fault. For example, an accounting server vendor pushing a new proprietary extension packet type in a firmware update could cause this counter to start incrementing on switches running older client firmware that predates that extension.
