Description: The number of malformed RADIUS Access-Response packets received from this server. Malformed packets include packets with an invalid length. Bad authenticators or signature attributes or unknown types are not included as malformed access responses.

What is cienaCesRadiusDot1xAcctMalformedResponses?

This counts accounting responses from this server that were malformed specifically due to invalid length, deliberately excluding bad-authenticator and unknown-type errors which are tracked separately. A climbing value here on the accounting path points an admin at packet truncation or fragmentation between the switch and the accounting server, distinct from a shared-secret problem, since length corruption happens in transit rather than in the signing process. For example, this counter climbing right after an MTU change on an intervening router interface would be a strong hint that accounting packets are being truncated in transit, not that the accounting server's config changed.
