Description: The number of authentication timeouts to this server. After a timeout the client may retry sending to the same server, send to a different server, or give up. A retry to the same server is counted as a retransmit as well as a timeout. A send to a different server is counted as a request as well as a timeout.

What is cienaCesRadiusClientServerTimeouts?

Because the description clarifies that each timeout also gets double-counted into either the retransmission or the request counter for whichever server catches the retry, an admin comparing timeout counts across sibling servers needs to keep that overlap in mind rather than simply summing counters across servers to get a total failure count. For example, a spike in this counter accompanied by a matching spike in cienaCesRadiusClientServerAccessRetransmissions for the same server row confirms the device kept retrying this same unresponsive server rather than failing over.
