Because this is the cumulative TdmPwTotalStatistics counter for the pseudowire, tallied since the bin's own start time rather than being reset every short collection interval, missing PWE packets translate directly into gaps in the reconstructed TDM bit stream — the CESoP/SAToP receiver has no choice but to either repeat the last known payload or insert an idle pattern, both of which a TDM device on the far end will register as a data anomaly. For example, if this counter climbs by a few hundred during the cumulative bin while the pseudowire's underlying packet path is also showing rising jitter, that combination points to packet loss in the PSN as the root cause of TDM circuit errors rather than a fault in the TDM equipment itself.
